Meet the Team

  • Rebecca B. Snukal, KC Managing Partner

    Rebecca obtained her Bachelor of Arts in English at the University of Calgary in 2000. She then went on to obtain her Bachelor of Laws at the University of Calgary in 2003. Rebecca has over 17 years of experience as a lawyer and over 20 years in the Criminal Courts.

    Rebecca has represented numerous high-profile cases that include the Banff rapist, Canmore rapist, Calgary Beltline rapist, the Applewood Firebombing, and several high-profile murder cases. Rebecca has significant experience in Drug law, Charter law, Bail law, and loves performing the art of cross examination. Rebecca was named one of the top 20 compelling Calgarians in 2006.

    Rebecca is passionate about her job and is praised for her solid working relationship with all members of the Justice System. Rebecca loves to be in the Courtroom and ensures no stone is left un-turned in each one of her cases.

    Rebecca received her designation of King’s Counsel on March 6, 2022.

  • Meaghan Tardecilla, Paralegal

    Meaghan began working for Snukal Law Office in February 2020 after obtaining her Legal Assistant diploma from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). She is responsible for ensuring the daily operations of the firm are completed efficiently and to firm standards.

    Throughout Meaghan’s time with Snukal Law Office, she has gained knowledge of criminal litigation with the Alberta Court of Justice, Alberta Court of King’s Bench, and Alberta Court of Appeal.

    Meaghan is actively pursuing her Bachelor of Professional Arts degree with a Major in Criminal Justice at Athabasca University. She hopes to complete her studies by 2025. In her free time, Meaghan enjoys spending time with her loved ones and caring for her cat, Rory.

    The Canadian criminal justice system can be unforgiving; Meaghan understands that it is important to apply her gained knowledge from practical experience in finding the best solution for each client’s situation.

  • Dana Tittemore, Associate Lawyer

    Dana joined Snukal Law Office in March 2021 as an Associate. Dana is often a client’s first point of contact and will work diligently to put forth a client’s best defence. She has experience assisting with various Criminal Code and drug related matters and has assisted with matters in all levels of court (Provincial Court, Court of Queen’s Bench, the Alberta Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada).

    Dana obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology (concentrating in crime and deviance) from the University of Calgary in 2008. Following her graduation, she worked as a youth worker with at risk youth, assisted individuals with criminal records apply for US entry waivers and pardons (now called record suspensions), and worked as an administrator for an employee health services provider where she coordinated psychological and substance abuse assessments for clients.

    Dana obtained her law degree from the University of Sydney, Australia in 2016. While in Australia, Dana volunteered with the Public Defenders Office and worked as a litigation paralegal with a leading Australian law firm and was a member of the Sydney University Law Society executive.

    Upon her return to Canada, Dana’s law degree was recognized by the Federation of Law Societies of Canada and she was called to the bar in 2018.

  • Sam Taylor, Associate Lawyer

    Sam began working with Rebecca in 2020 as a first-year summer law student after first being introduced to her practice while working as a clerk of the court, Provincial Criminal, before attending UCalgary Law.

    Sam was born and raised in Calgary. He graduated from Mount Royal University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Health and Physical Education. In his final year of this program, he decided to change his career trajectory, to pursue his passion for the criminal justice system by attending law school.

    During law school, Sam was an active member of UCalgary’s Faculty of Law Student Legal Assistance program. This provided him an early experience at providing legal services to those in need. With a focus on providing meaningful support and advocacy, Sam is intent on ensuring all persons achieve their right of access to justice.

    Sam was successfully called to the Alberta bar in August of 2023. He is looking forward to applying his gained knowledge as he initiates career as an official officer of the Court.
