About Brigitte Stewart

Brigitte earned a Bachelor of Arts with distinction from the University of Alberta prior to obtaining her Juris Doctor from the University of Calgary in 2024. During law school, Brigitte was an active volunteer with Student Legal Assistance, where she served as both a caseworker and a trial division member, providing legal services to low-income Calgarians. She also contributed as an editor for the Alberta Law Review and supported fellow students as a tutor in Evidence Law.

In recognition of her academic achievements, Brigitte was named to the Dean’s List during her last two years of law school – an honour recognizing the top 10% of students in each year. She received numerous academic awards including the Irv Goldman Memorial Prize for outstanding performance in Criminal Process and the Honourable Mr. Justice Michal Stober Memorial Prize in Criminal Process Law, awarded to the student with the highest grade in Criminal Process. In 2024, she was awarded first prize in the general essay category of the William Morrow Essay Contest for her paper on international criminal law.

Brigitte has worked as a summer law student with both Snukal Law and Sitar & Milczarek where she gained extensive knowledge and experience in a wide array of criminal matters before all three levels of court in Alberta.

Brigitte commenced her articles by clerking at the Calgary Court of Justice under the mentorship of the Honourable Justice A.A. Fradsham. This experience gave her valuable insight into judicial reasoning and the analytical approaches taken by judges in resolving a variety of legal issues. Brigitte is currently concluding her articles at Snukal Law and will be called to the bar in October 2025.

Brigitte is deeply passionate about access to justice and is committed to ensuring that all individuals have meaningful access to legal representation, a commitment reflected in her academic and professional pursuits.
